Township Donates Safety Equipment to Churches and Businesses

Earlier this month, Middleton Township presented a new automated external defibrillator (AED) and fully stocked first aid cabinet acquired with 2020 CARES Act funds to each of five churches located in the township and the local grain elevators operated by Mid-Wood and Luckey Farmers. Representatives from Christ Bible Church of Dunbridge and Sugar Ridge Community Church were on hand at the March 3 Board of Trustees meeting to accept the portable life-saving devices and first aid gear. Township officials met separately with Haskins Community Church, St. Paul Lutheran Church and the Maumee Valley Unitarian Universalist Congregation. The AEDs and first aid cabinets were purchased from Green Guard First Aid & Safety, a subsidiary of UniFirst.

CARES Act dollars allocated to the township were predominantly used to address fire and EMS department first-responder needs as well as to purchase COVID-related preventative equipment and cleaning supplies for township administrative and maintenance buildings to help keep visitors, employees and officials safe. Additionally, the township also used funds to invest in a pop-up vaccination station for mobile deployment by the Wood County Health Department.
